Infertility is still a taboo in India and the subcontinent, specially in the rural and semi urban areas.Here people live in close net families or joint families.
If you visit a rural centre for consultation,you will find hapless infertile woman being accompanied by her mother or Sister,or they come all alone. We hardly see the husband and wife together.A man is as important as its female counterpart who needs to be investigated and treated as well.
It is a myth arising out of male EGO that 'nothing could go wrong with me' and 'I don't want to be investigated '.
This creates a complex problem and delays treatment.
